Rising Karting Star Brodie Oravetz Back on Track after Near-Season Ending Injury

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PITTSBURGH, PA (August 26, 2016) – Entering the 2016 season, young Brodie Oravetz was on the path to success. The Imperial, Pennsylvania, native, now in the midst of his fourth year in the kart ranks, earned 34 podium finishes in 76 karting starts last season, four of which resulting in victories. Oravetz claimed victories during karting competition at Naugle Speedway, Shaffer’s Speedway, and Pittsfield Championship Karting Association; three of eight tracks visited during his travels across the map in 2015.

The plan for 2016 was simple; compete for titles in three different karting series (NYDKS, RUSH Memorial Series, BSSS at Goodhope), all while chasing track championships in two different divisions at Slippery Rock Raceway in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. Oravetz was off to a great start at completing all of those goals, earning a victory at Slippery Rock Raceway during his first start of the season, when disaster struck. A non-racing related accident left Oravetz suffering from a broken forearm, sidelining the youngster for nearly seven weeks.

“I fell and broke my arm. Yea, we were all disappointed, but there wasn’t much I could do about it,” Brodie Oravetz said. “We did what the doctor told us and allowed my arm to heal. We had a lot of plans for this season, but we can always work toward those goals next year. For now, we’ll just try to race as much as we can and try to build some momentum. I need to get back in my rythym.”

After nearly two months of recovery, Oravetz was back in the driver seat. Considering that his plans to chase series championships were out of the question due to time missed, Oravetz switched his focus to a true “outlaw” schedule; traveling to a variety to dirt facilities all across the region including Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. When available, Oravetz will also compete in weekly competition at Slippery Rock Raceway, entering events in the Jr. Clone division.

Recent results for Oravetz include two victories at the Eriez Speedway near Erie, Pennsylvania, as well as a runner-up finish at the Stateline Speedway near Busti, New York, raising his overall top-ten total to 10 this season in just 13 starts. The Imperial native scored victories in the Blue Plate Clone and Gold Plate Flathead divisions, each during his first-ever visit to the Erie oval.

“I’m excited for the rest of the season,” Brodie explained. “I have a lot of sponsors that help us travel. I can’t thank them enough for their help and support. We had a few new sponsors come on board this season. We appreciate everything they do for us.”
