SUNOCO RACE FUELS CONTINUES RELATIONSHIP WITH SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL SERIES FOR SEASON #2

(Pulaski, PA)…Sunoco Race Fuels and the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series will continue its marketing program for the 2014 season. This year will mark the second of the three-year agreement as the “Official Fuel” of the Sweeney RUSH Late Model Series.
“I cannot tell you how pleased we are to continue our marketing partnership with Sunoco Race Fuels as a major sponsor of RUSH,” stated Series Co-Director Vicki Emig. “I’ve had a great relationship with Sunoco representative Russ Bradford for over 15 years and believe that together with our regional promoters, we can begin to address the problem of the extreme cost of fuel that some of our racers are currently utilizing.”
“Although we are not implementing a fuel rule again for 2014, we believe we are taking a substantial step in the right direction by partnering with Sunoco and endorsing their Sunoco 260 GT product,” continued Emig. “The selection of several RUSH/Sunoco authorized distributors for the Sunoco 260 GT product will allow us to control and maintain consistent and reasonable pricing of this product to the racers in our region.”
Continuing from last year, the first 50 RUSH drivers competing at RUSH-sanctioned speedways that purchase 10 gallons of Sunoco 260 GT fuel and show proof of purchase to RUSH Series Directors, will receive a certificate valid toward the purchase of an additional five gallons of this product. Numerous drivers took advantage of the offer, and any additional drivers that had not redeemed this offer in 2013 can do so until 50 drivers are reached. Through this program, over $2,000 in Sunoco 260 GT fuel will be distributed to the racers! Drivers can contact the RUSH office for details as to how they will receive their certificates for their free fuel.
In fact, last season Kyle Lukon earned a $500 bonus for becoming the first driver to win a Sweeney RUSH Tour event utilizing the Sunoco 260 GT fuel capturing the “Cross the Borders” Speedweek event at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway.
Sunoco Race Fuels sponsored the purchase of an electronic fuel hydrometer last season. The state-of-the-art tool is utilized to check the oxygen content that is in the fuel. Sunoco has also offered their expertise and full support to both RUSH Competition Director Travis Harry and RUSH weekly-sanctioned speedway tech officials in any and all fuel technical issues that may occur.
“Bazell Race Fuels and Sunoco along with the RUSH Dirt Late Model Series look forward to informing all the Crate Late Model racers throughout the region that there are options out there for their racing fuel,” stated Russ Bradford, Division Manager of Bazell Race Fuels. “The fuels that we offer perform as well or better than the other high-priced fuels put on the market by other companies.”
Bradford went on to say, “Vicki and I have done business together for several years, and we feel very confident that Vicki along with Mike Leone will continue to make RUSH successful. With this said we feel that this is where we need to invest our resources to not only help the Series, but also help the racers. Sunoco Race Fuels has a long history of producing the most competitive and consistent fuels in the industry as well as supporting many sanctioning bodies across all types of motorsports.”
Sunoco is always working on new fuels to better serve the racer by increasing performance, while keeping the costs of the fuel under control. Working with a few engine builders both on the dyno and on the track the Sunoco Green E-15 is showing very promising results in crate engine applications. This fuel has primarily been used in NASCAR applications and has just recently been tried in a Crate Late Model. It showed significant power increases on the dyno over our competition and has some prestigious wins to its credit.
The fuel is relatively new to this application so therefore the normal outlets for purchasing Sunoco Race Fuels may not stock the Sunoco Green E-15 yet, but the fuel is available through Bazell Oil Co., Inc. for shipment. The Sunoco E-15 meets all rule specifications set forth by Rush. The Sunoco 260 GT is a great fuel and runs great in these crate engines but if a person is looking to get every last horsepower and every ounce of torque out of a crate engine Sunoco Green E-15 has shown on the dyno and on the track that it works!
