GRIMES, Iowa (August 29, 2022) – Ryan Giles and Ryan Giles Racing may have concluded their 2022 campaign, but the Grimes, Iowa-based 360 sprint car team went out swinging, capping Knoxville Raceway’s season with a podium run in the championship program on Saturday, August 27.
In all, it was a successful evening at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, launching the event with the fourth-fastest time during qualifying time trials, driving on to finish third in their respective heat race after starting on the inside of row three. Giles would go on to finish third in the evening’s main event, battling as far forward as second before giving up the position to Chase Randall as the pair raced to the white flag.
The Knoxville Raceway podium finish concludes a successful campaign for Giles and his family-owned operation, concluding their partial season with six top-ten appearances; the podium outcome was their best result.
“A lot to say, but definitely proud of everyone…such a great way to cap a great season,” Ryan Giles expressed, driver of the Albaugh, LLC., Iowa Barnstormers, Hicklin Powersports, Barron Equipment, Omega Concrete Mixers, No. 9 sprint car. “A lot of people helped get this operation off the ground and I owe our successes to them. To cap the year with a podium gives us a great momentum kick heading into the off season. We’ll be ready for 2023…it will be here before we know it.”
