GRIMES, Iowa (July 5, 2022) – Despite it being just their first start of the season, Grimes, Iowa’s Ryan Giles and Ryan Giles Racing put on an impressive display at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, ultimately cashing in for a top-five appearance against a competitive field of 32 cars in Knoxville Raceway’s annual Mid-Season Championship on July 2. Powering the Albaugh LLC., Iowa Barnstormers, Hicklin Powersports, Barron Equipment, and Omega Concrete Mixers, No. 9 360 sprint car, Giles finished fifth in his family team debut, advancing three spots overall but not before climbing as high as fourth.
Giles, a former Knoxville Raceway 360 Rookie of the Year and 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary winner, kicked-off his Mid-Season Championship preliminary effort with the seventh-fastest time during qualifying time trials, racing on to finish third in his respective heat race.
“It was a great debut for our team and a great momentum kick for the rest of the season,” Giles explained. “We had to put this deal together pretty quick, so to roll out of the box with a top-five says a lot about our potential. I’m confident only big things are ahead for this Albaugh LLC car.”
