Schatz advances nine positions to finish 11th in Knoxville Nationals A-Main

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (August 11, 2025) – Although unable to collect a 12th Knoxville Nationals championship on Saturday, August 9, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) did the next best thing and put on a show, advancing nine positions in the 50-lap, $195,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals A-Main to finish 11th.
For Schatz, ace of Tony Stewart’s Hire Heroes USA, Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, Curb Records, Martin One Source, No. 15 sprint car, the A-Main advance wasn’t his only display of perseverance, technically launching Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals finale with a hard-fought battle from 11th to fourth in the evening’s B, which ultimately solidified his row ten spot in the 50-lapper. It was a fifth-place finish in Friday’s Hard Knox last chance qualifier A-Main – forced to compete in the program due to a small point total following his Wednesday preliminary – that allowed Schatz to start 11th in Saturday’s B-Main.
Speaking of Hard Knox, Schatz’ impressive passing run technically commenced from there, advancing from 15th to finish the aforementioned fifth-place – one spot short of a top-four transfer position which would have locked Schatz into Saturday’s finale A-Main.
As noted, Schatz entered Knoxville Raceway’s historic gates as an 11-time Knoxville Nationals champion with his most recent title attained in 2022. Impressive enough, the Fargo, North Dakota, native won his first 10 titles in 12 tries.

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2025 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with starts at Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota, and Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, on Friday and Saturday, August 15-16.
