2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Sixth | 5616 points [190 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (July 25, 2022) – Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing certainly know their way around Williams Grove Speedway, and that proved to be the case yet again during the Speedway’s annual Summer Nationals program on July 22-23, capping the two-day invasion with back-to-back top-ten appearances including a fourth-place score in the $20,000-to-win finale.

Schatz, ace of the Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Digital Ally, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, started from the outside-pole and led the first six laps of the Summer Nationals headliner, losing the top spot to Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild on lap seven. The ten-time World of Outlaws champion maintained his place within the top-five for the remainder of the 30-lap program.

The ninth-quickest time in qualifying time trials, as well as a heat race victory, secured Schatz’ position in the $20,000-to-win A-Main. Without saying, Schatz finished second in the evening’s dash.

One night prior in the Summer Nationals preliminary, Schatz finished seventh, starting the 25-lapper in the exact same position.

Actually, Schatz was in a position to secure a top-ten result at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, July 20, but a tire malfunction negated all potential; the Fargo, North Dakota, native limped his No. 15 home in 19th after starting second.

ON DECK:
Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a Weedsport Speedway doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, July 30-31; the first and only visit to the Empire State this season for the World of Outlaws.
