BROWNSBURG, Ind. (March 24, 2025) – It was a roller coaster weekend in the Lone Star State for Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR), and although the team was forced to surrender ahead of schedule in Saturday’s Texas Two-Step finale at Cotton Bowl Speedway, it was a top-five one night prior that ultimately highlighted their weekend trek, and rallying big to do so.
Schatz, ace of Tony Stewart’s Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Martin One Source, No. 15 sprint car, finished fifth in the aforementioned top-five score, driving ahead after commencing Cotton Bowl’s Texas Two-Step opener from the outside of row five. The five spot jump allowed the Fargo, North Dakota, native and ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion to secure his first top-five result of the 2025 World of Outlaws season, now sixth in the overall Series title chase.
As noted, Schatz’ Saturday performance was ultimately cut short, as a broken left rear sent Schatz for a backstretch rollover. Schatz started sixth on Saturday’s grid and was battling for a top-five position when the incident occurred.
