BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 23, 2024) – Honoring one of the sport’s most dedicated and longstanding car owners, Thunderbowl Raceway’s Dennis Roth Classic on September 20-21 proved to be not only rich, but competitive, and for Fargo, North Dakota’s Donny Schatz, he’s familiar with both, closing out the Tulare, California, blockbuster with a top-ten – the 47th of his World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season.
Schatz, pilot of the Tony Stewat/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, Mobil 1, No. 15 sprint car, finished seventh in his eventual top-ten appearance, commencing the $83,000-to-win main event from the inside of row ten. The 12-position charge was not only an impressive feat for the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, but it served as an excellent rebound, as Schatz opened Dennis Roth Classic weekend with a 16th-place outcome on Friday, September 20.
WIth the 2024 World of Outlaws West Coast Swing officially in the books, Schatz and the rest of the Greatest Show On Dirt will now turn their attention east, set to re-invade the great state of Ohio for an elbows up doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, September 27-28. Schatz’ weekend will begin officially with an appearance at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, followed by a stop at Sharon Speedway in Hartford the following evening. The Ohio visit will eventually transition into a Pennsylvania invasion – the Williams Grove Speedway National Open – the following weekend.
