BROWNSBURG, Ind. (July 23, 2018) – Fargo, North Dakota’s Donny Schatz continued his 2018 “Month of Money” campaign with another string of successful finishes, this time earning a pair of podium performances during action at Lernerville Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway, respectively, splitting that pair of results with a top-five performance during action at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway. Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Textron Off Road/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/No. 15 sprint car, has finished inside the top-five during all but eight World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series starts in 2018, now with a 208-point cushion in the current championship chase.

“It feels good to put together solid stretches of results like this. It’s important to us, but our ultimate goal is to win,” Donny Schatz explained, who owns 15 World of Outlaws victories this season. “I’m lucky enough to work with the best crew in the world. All I have to do is drive the car.”

Donny Schatz kicked-off his recent stretch of success with a podium run during the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway on Tuesday, July 17. The former Silver Cup winner charged from row five to earn the podium run, crossing under the final checkers third in the running order after starting ninth.

The week continued with back-to-back starts in Central Pennsylvania beginning with the rescheduled Gettysburg Clash at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, July 19. In similar fashion as his Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup performance, Schatz charged from deep within the field to finish inside the top-five; fourth, officially, after starting 11th on the grid. Schatz locked himself into the main event by finishing third during his respective heat race.

Nearly earning his 16th World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory of the 2018 season, Donny Schatz led the first 17 laps of the Summer Nationals preliminary event at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 20, before giving up the top spot to eventual winner, Lance Dewease. Dubbed the Morgan Cup, which awarded a $5,000 bonus on top of the $8,000 top prize, Schatz started second on the feature grid and took the lead immediately, fending off fellow front row starter, Lucas Wolfe.

Utilizing a restart on lap 17, Dewease, who restarted second, chased Schatz into turn one and exercised a perfect slider to gain race control. Schatz attempted to return the favor and regain the top spot in turns three and four, but Dewease was too strong on the bottom of the speedway.

Schatz kicked-off his evening visit at The Grove with a second place finish during heat race competition, followed by a runner-up finish during dash action.

The Summer Nationals finale set for Saturday, July 21, was cancelled due to wet weather.

Up next on the schedule, Donny Schatz will continue his quest toward a tenth World of Outlaws title by following the Series north to the Empire State, ready to make three starts in four days beginning with a midweek program at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Wednesday, July 25.

The New York road trip will continue on Friday and Sunday, July 27 & 29, with starts at Ransomville Speedway and Weedsport Speedway, respectively. Schatz finished fourth during his visit to Ransomville in 2017, solidifying his A-main starting position with the evening’s fastest qualifying time, followed by a runner-up finish during heat race competition.
