Rimersburg, PA (April 28th, 2013) – After suffering from engine failure in the Priester Racing no. 11 during ‘410’ main event action on Friday evening, April 26th, at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania; Rimersburg native Scott Priester would persevere, and shift his weekend momentum in a positive direction by earning a podium finish at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The former Challenger Raceway Track Champion piloted the Dionise Racing no. 15 ‘410’ sprint car to a runner-up finish on Saturday evening, April 27th at the Mercer oval; leading twenty-four of the twenty-five laps during the feature event before finishing second (2nd) in the running order. Priester, who pilots the Martha Dionise owned Dionise Racing ‘15’ on a regular basis at the Mercer Raceway Park, battled relentlessly through lapped traffic on very rough racing surface to earn the runner-up finish during Mercer’s first ‘Saturday Night Live!’ sprint car program of the 2013 season. Brandon Spithaler was the main event winner. There were sixteen (16)  Luxaire Heating & Cooling and New Wilmington Motors ‘410’ sprint cars signed in for action at the Mercer 3/8’s mile oval. The entire feature finish can be found online at www.mercerracewaypark.com.

“Friday hurt us…nobody wants to have motor problems” said Scott Priester, “It was nice to turn the weekend around on Saturday in Martha’s car…I think we should have won that race, but unfortunately we didn’t…Brandon (Spithaler) did a great job getting around us and the lapped traffic…I can’t thank Martha Dionise enough for this opportunity…she’s a great owner and we’ve been together for a few years now…I was really hoping to get her a win but we’ll try again next weekend…it was a great way to start the year earning that top two finish.”

With Scott Priester’s own Priester Racing, Kaptured by Kirstie, Advance Auto Parts no. 11 suffering from rather severe engine issues during Lernerville Speedway’s ‘Fab Four’ opener on Friday, April 26th; the return of that machine to the Lernerville Speedway for action on Friday, May 3rd is rather uncertain. If Lernerville becomes out of the question, the former Lernerville Speedway winner will then turn his attention back to the Dionise Racing no. 15 for competition on Saturday evening, May 4th, at the Mercer Raceway Park. The Dionise/Priester Racing duo, who finished second in the 2012 Mercer Raceway Park ‘410’ track standings, will spend each and every Saturday evening at the Mercer 3/8’s mile oval; chasing not only victory lane appearances, but also a track championship. The podium finish this past weekend gives the Dionise Racing operation a great head start towards the 2013 track title. This Saturday’s program at Mercer Raceway Park will feature another weekly lineup of ‘Saturday Night Live!’ action; featuring the ‘410’ sprint cars. On Sunday evening, May 5th, Scott Priester has plans to venture south to the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania for the first ever appearance of the ‘410’ sprint cars at that facility. The ‘410 Showdown In The Laurel Highlands’ will feature a $4,000-to-win/$350-to-start main event for the ‘410’ sprint cars on Sunday. Teams from all across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia are expected to sign in for the historical event; including Rimersburg, Pennsylvania native Scott Priester. A decision regarding which car Priester will pilot at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex will be determined later this week. Gates are scheduled to open at 4:00PM on Sunday, May 5th; with racing beginning at roughly 6:30PM. For more information, please visit Roaring Knob online at www.roaringknob.com; or contact Mike Leone at 724-967-2363.

“The plan is to go to Roaring Knob for that race…we just don’t know what car or team is going” explained Priester, “I think we will get our motor back together this week…if that is the case, racing at Lernerville and Roaring Knob shouldn’t be an issue…we were thinking about taking the ‘15’ car to Roaring Knob, but that is obviously something we will have to sit down and talk about…we have a long year ahead of us.”
