Rimersburg, Pennsylvania native and long time sprint car veteran, Scott Priester, will start his 2012 campaign this Saturday night at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The western Pennsylvania native will pilot three different cars during the upcoming season; including the Dionise owned no. 15, which will be raced this Saturday evening at the Mercer bullring. Priester will be the full-time pilot of the Dionise Racing no. 15 again this season; with other plans to race his own equipment during semi-regular appearances at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. The third car that Priester will sit in this season is a wingless ‘410’ sprinter that will make off and on visits with the newly formed B.O.S.S. Series (Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series) in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. Needless to say, the veteran will have a lot to keep him busy during the upcoming summer months.
Scott Priester finished 7th in last year’s Mercer Raceway Park points battle; wrapping up his 2011 season only 14 points behind Wampum, Pennsylvania native, Brent Matus. Although Priester may be present at the Mercer 3/8’s mile on an occasional basis this season, a points championship is not the overall goal. The Dionise team plans to spend a little more time on the road; hitting and missing different tracks and high paying shows around the region. Hopefully the busy approach to the upcoming season gives Priester a new perspective on the sport, and a fun experience.
