SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway and Raceway Park officials released the 2014 schedule of events today featuring 31 races at the Snyder County half-mile oval and 32 events at the one-fifth mile track this year.

Throughout the speedway’s 69th year, fans will have the opportunity to take in a variety of motorsports racing programs, including no less than 14 sanctioned events by regional and national touring open wheel and stock car divisions.

The seventh annual Race of Champions Icebreaker Weekend for modifieds will open the track’s 52nd consecutive season of racing March 14-15. Friday night’s race at 7:30 p.m. will showcase the 358 modifieds, with Saturday afternoon’s racing card featuring the big block and sportsman modifieds at 4 p.m.

Selinsgrove Speedway will host its annual Motorsports Show at the Susquehanna Valley Mall March 16-21. Season reserved seat tickets will be on sale at the mall Sunday 1-4 p.m.; Monday-Thursday 6:30-9 p.m.; and Friday 6-7:30 p.m. The season kickoff ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Center Court.

The 410 sprint cars will make their first appearance of the season at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23. Other events for the 410 sprint cars include the Ray Tilley Classic (May 25), Jan Opperman Memorial / PA Speedweek Finale (July 6) and the Jim Nace Memorial / 32nd Annual National Open (Sept. 13). For the second year in a row, the 44-lap National Open for 410 sprint cars will pay $12,000 to win.

The super sportsman and 305 sprint cars will join the 410 sprint cars on May 25 and July 6 for open wheel tripleheaders.

Weekly Saturday night fanfare will consist of 358-360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners. The first regular season show is slated for 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5. The Mach 1 Chassis/A&A Auto Stores 358-360 sprint cars will race for $2,000 to win on a weekly basis, while the Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center late models will compete for $1,500 to win a regular show.

The United Racing Company (URC) 360 sprint cars will make six stops (April 19, May 10, June 28 Firecracker 30, July 26, Aug. 9 Kramer Cup, and Sept. 27) at the track, the most of any touring division. The Empire Super Sprint (ESS) 360 sprint cars will race three times on April 12, May 17 and Sept. 27, while the Patriot Sprint Series will make a single appearance June 14 for the Joe Whitcomb Memorial.

The 14th Annual Mach 1 Chassis National Open for 358-360 sprint cars will be co-sanctioned by ESS and URC Sept. 27; this year’s edition of the 358-360 sprint car Open will pay $10,000 to win.

The Three States Flyers Late Model Series will make its inaugural appearance at the track May 3 in a $3,000 to win race.

Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center will sponsor the fifth annual Driver & Fan Appreciation Night July 19.

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will return to sanction the 16th Annual Late Model National Open the weekend of Aug. 30-31. Saturday night’s “Showdown on Sandhill” will pay $8,000 to win, with Saturday’s 50-lap Late Model Open offering $10,000 to win.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park, the one-fifth mile track located inside of Selinsgrove Speedway’s half-mile oval, will present weekly Friday night go kart and micro sprint car racing for the 14th season. A practice session for go karts will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday, March 22.

The Maxxi Mid-Atlantic Dirt Series will open the season with a two-day sanctioned karting event the weekend of March 28-29. Regular season competition for go karts and micro sprint cars begins at 7 p.m. April 4.

Go karts will be featured in Burris Racing Tires events April 14, May 4, and July 13. Middleswarth Potato Chips will sponsor the annual Firecracker for go karts July 3.

The micro sprint cars will be featured in the 8th Annual All Star Championship Race in Memory of Roger Spencer Sept. 21.
