BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 10, 2019) – It was a busy weekend for three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and recent NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Stewart, as the Columbus, Indiana-native participated in three consecutive All Star Circuit of Champions events across much of southern New York. When the dust settled on Sunday night, Stewart accomplished a pair of top-ten performances, one of which a podium run during action at Stateline Speedway in Busti on Saturday, June 8.
Not only did Stewart, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car, attain a podium run at the Busti short track, but he also threw his hat into the ring for the win, nearly pulling even with eventual winner, Dale Blaney, as the pair raced for the lead during the early portions of the 30-lap contest.
Despite kicking off his weekend in the Empire State with a ‘DNF’ at Outlaw Speedway on Friday, June 7 – the result of issues within the front-end – Stewart rebounded in a big way, first earning the aforementioned podium finish on Saturday, then climbing ahead from 12th to finish eighth at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, June 9.
“It was a fun weekend for our team. Things didn’t start off too well for us on Friday, but we kept our heads on straight and stayed focused. That’s the key. I have a great team that works endless hours in keeping my equipment race-ready and competitive. I appreciate all that they do,” Tony Stewart said. “All we can do now is look ahead and get ready for the next chapter of our schedule.”
Tony Stewart’s upcoming sprint car plans have yet to be determined. Fans should stay alert online, as well as on social media, for continuing updates.
