Sodeman Jr. Will Work to Defend “Home Dirt” Against Invading Arctic Cat All Stars
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
NORTH JACKSON, Oh. (May 10, 2016) – For the first time in 2016, Jack Sodeman Jr. will go head-to-head with one of the nation’s most elite traveling sprint car series. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, led by six-time and defending champion Dale Blaney, will make their way into Western Pennsylvania during the upcoming weekend, set to invade two different ovals for two separate $5,000 paydays. Jack Sodeman Jr., a former sprint car track champion at multiple facilities throughout Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas, will work to defend “home dirt” during the entire weekend, all while trying to snag one of the two, $5,000 top prizes.
“We’ve been waiting for this weekend all spring,” explained Jack Sodeman Jr. “They are an elite group, so anytime you have an opportunity to race with them, you have to jump on it. We are excited.”
The Arctic Cat All Star charge through Western Pennsylvania will begin on Friday evening, May 13, at the Lernerville Speedway just outside of Sarver. Jack Sodeman Jr. is a former wing sprint car and non-wing sprint car main event winner at “The Action Track,” with his most recent result equalling a runner-up performance on Friday evening, April 22. Sodeman finished 17th during the All Star appearance at Lernerville Speedway in 2015.
The upcoming weekend will continue with Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer on Saturday evening, May 14. Sodeman, pilot of the Glassmere Fuel, Economy Tooling, PRS Transit, Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc., Butlerbuilt, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Simpson Race Products, Triple X Race Components, No. 23JR, is the defending Mercer Raceway Park track champion, capturing two main event victories in the process. Like Lernerville, the North Jackson, Ohio, native is certainly no stranger to Arctic Cat All Star competition at the Mercer oval, earning a fifth place performance against the regional travelers last May.
“I think if we start the night off right, finish well in our heat and earn a dash spot, our chances are as good as anyone’s,” said Jack Sodeman Jr. “These guys are good. It will be tough to climb through the field, so our best bet is to get ourselves in one of the first few rows. A weekend like this is exciting. There will be a lot of attention put on everyone.”
Jack Sodeman Jr. will enter the high profile weekend with five starts under his belt in 2016, resulting in three top-five finishes. A 19th place finish at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, May 7, is Sodeman’s most recent result, his first visit to the “Speed Palace” in 2016.
“I just want to take a little bit of time to thank all of my sponsors and supporters again,” said Jack Sodeman Jr. “It takes a lot of dedication to put a race team together. It also takes a lot of effort to support a race team. I think we have a great combination in 2016. We have the speed and the potential to find victory lane every time we are on the race track. We’ll work for a win on Friday night, that is for sure.”
