2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Standings: 19th | 203 points

CARLISLE, Pa. (February 13, 2023) – As Series tradition has it, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series sophomore and Lebanon, Indiana, native, Spencer Bayston, kicked-off his 2023 campaign with a trip to the Sunshine State, joining the Greatest Show On Dirt in a three-race turned two-race DIRTcar Nationals campaign at Volusia Speedway Park. Although Volusia ultimately lost Saturday’s dash and feature to Mother Nature, which will be contested when the Outlaws return to Volusia in early March, Bayston put his team to work and qualified for each of the Outlaw main events conducted, finishing 16th and 19th, respectively.
Prior to the Outlaws’ season opener, Bayston and his CJB Motorsports, TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, No. 5 sprint car joined the All Star Circuit of Champions for their portion of the DIRTcar Nationals on February 7-8, cashing in for a pair of top-ten finishes including a fourth-place score to open action on Tuesday. The 2022 World of Outlaws Rookie of Year finished eighth the following evening.
Bayston will start in the rescheduled DIRTcar Nationals dash and A-Main.
“In all, we’re happy to get the new season underway, although I don’t think our results match the effort we put out. We have two, young crew members that have a lot of energy and ambition to succeed in this sport and I’m excited to watch them develop. We were working around a couple of hiccups that prevented us from having speed on Friday night…a few changes and we were right back on track prior to the rain Saturday. We’ll get our chance at some Volusia redemption in a few weeks,” Bayston said. “I can’t thank this team enough for their hard work and support. We have a long road ahead…plenty of time to find our stride and hunt for the top of the standings. I know we have the potential to do so.”

Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 campaign with another round of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition in the Sunshine State, resetting the compass for Volusia Speedway Park in De Leon Springs, Florida, for the Spring Showdown on Sunday and Monday, March 5-6.
