2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Ninth | 1524 points [162 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

CARLISLE, Pa. (April 4, 2022) – Two starts resulted in two top-ten finishes for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, kicking off their travels east out of California with a sixth-place performance at the state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico, on Tuesday, March 29, followed by an eighth-place score at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Saturday, April 2.

Although forced to deal with an ultra-fast and narrow surface at Devil’s Bowl, ultimately fading a spot in the $20,000-to-win Texas Outlaw Nationals A-Main after starting seventh, Bayston was a force to be dealt with at Vado earlier in the week, actually battling for fourth with Roth Motorsports’ James McFadden at one point before settling-in just outside of the top-five.

A heat race victory in Texas allowed Bayston to qualify for the evening’s dash; he finished third in heat competition at Vado. The Lebanon, Indiana, native, who is battling for Rookie of the Year honors with the Greatest Show On Dirt, now owns six top-ten performances in his first 12 starts as a full-time Outlaw, climbing to ninth in the driver championship standings with starts in Missouri next on the Series agenda.

“Earning top-tens in our last two races shows what kind of consistency we have, and being slightly disappointed with those finishes shows exactly what kind of potential we have. Our speed is there and I’m becoming more and more comfortable in the car,” Bayston explained, pilot of the Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based Signing Day Sports, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, FK Rod Ends, Allstar Performance, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, No. 5 sprint car. “Vado and Devil’s Bowl don’t provide a lot of room for passing, but we were able to salvage some solid results and that’s something to be proud of. We are eager to get that first win of the year, and I know that night is coming soon, we just have to be patient and keep working hard.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a doubleheader in the Show-Me State, set to invade US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri, on Friday, April 8, followed by a stop at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri, on Saturday, April 9. The weekend will headline with the annual Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark awarding $15,000 to the winner. Bayston will enter the coming Missouri double ninth in the World of Outlaws driver championship standings.
