Mechanicsburg – The Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars will get one final chance to ready themselves for the upcoming World of Outlaws National Open at Williams Grove Speedway when they tune-up for the invading band this Friday night at 7:30 pm.

The National Open will take place at the track on September 28 and 29 but this week, the locals known as the PA Posse will get to practice qualifying under the clock as well as the rest of the outlaws format before the big show next weekend.

The feature this week will be 25 laps in distance as the tune up event and it will pay $4,000 to win.

The event will be the final show of the 2012 Diamond Series races at the oval and as such will crown the series champion.

To date this season, Diamond Series winners have been Chad Layton, Logan Schuchart, Fred Rahmer, Brian Leppo, Stevie Smith, Greg Hodnett, Brent Marks and Cory Haas.

Hodnett is the Diamond Series point leader by a scant margin over Daryn Pittman entering the show.

The Tool Shed of America 358 sprints are also on this week’s racing program.

The two-day World of Outlaws National Open coming up during the final weekend of September at Williams Grove will pay a whopping $50,000 for the Saturday night, 40-lap finale winner.

It will be the 50th running of the prestigious event at Williams Grove Speedway.

The Friday night Open program will include a feature 25 laps in distance, paying $8,000 to the winner.

Tickets are still available by contacting the speedway office.
