Stambaugh earns second win of season during GLSS action in Michigan

ELIDA, Ohio (June 25, 2018) – For the second time in 2018, “Mad Max” Stambaugh earned a trip to victory lane during Great Lakes Super Sprints (GLSS) competition, this time bettering a field of 27 entries during action at Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, Michigan. The Elida, Ohio, native nearly swept the evening program on Saturday by setting the fastest time of the night during qualifying time trials followed up by a heat race runner-up finish, all capped off with a main event triumph worth $2,000.
Impressive enough, Stambaugh has only made four feature starts during GLSS/360c.i. competition in 2018, two of which resulting in victories and one other result inside the top-five; third at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., on Friday, June 15.
“The last few weeks have been successful. We were forced to take a step back this year and really focus on a racing schedule that fits our budget and our resources. The Great Lakes Super Sprints fits us well. We are having a ton of fun right now and I wouldn’t trade that for anything,” Stambaugh explained, a former All Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year Award winner. “We’ve been taking things week by week for now and it’s turning into a good thing. We’ll see what this weekend brings. Hopefully we can keep the wins coming.”
