Only Late Model Show Of Williams Grove Season April 5 Along With Sprints

Mechanicsburg – Stock car fans cannot miss this Friday’s racing program at Williams Grove Speedway as the oval hosts full body, super late model racing along with the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars.

Practice laps are slated for 7 pm.

The show for the super late models will be the ONLY appearance of the season at the track by the powerful super lates.


A full program of heat races and features for each division is on the agenda.

Once a regular division at the track, late model shows have become a rarity at Williams Grove over the last several decades.

Bobby Goodling tops the all time Williams Grove late model win list with 31 followed by Ronnie McBee with 26.

Gary Stuhler of Greencastle currently ranks in third place with 22 Grove wins and is the highest-ranking active driver on the list.

The historic oval opened for the 2013 season on March 29 when Fred Rahmer held off Ryan Taylor for the opening day 410 sprint car victory.

It was the unrivaled 88th career win for Rahmer at the track.

The super sportsman were also on the card with Carmen Perigo Jr. taking the win.

Looking ahead, Williams Grove Speedway will showcase the 410 sprints with the Spring Classic Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial on April 19 before welcoming the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints on April 26.

The Williams Grove Saturday Night Series headlined by the super sportsman is slated to kickoff on April 20.

The first show of the season for the Tool Shed of America 358 sprints will be April 12.
