SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL WEEKLY SERIES EXPANDED TO 40 POINTS PAYING POSITIONS FOR 2014; POSITIONS 21-30 ALSO INCREASED AS ADDITIONAL SPEEDWAYS JOIN

(Pulaski, PA)…Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are proud to announce that the 2014 Sweeney Weekly Series Championship will increase in 2014. The top 40 drivers in 2014 points will receive point fund monies up from 30 this past season with $200 going to position 40. With the expansion to 40 positions, an increase in monies will also be added to positions 21-30!
Already this offseason, Potomac Speedway (Mechanicsville, MD), Winchester Speedway (Winchester, VA), Freedom Speedway (Delevan, NY), and Humberstone Speedway (Port Colborne, ON, Canada) have come on board as weekly-sanctioned speedways for 2014 allowing their member racers the ability to compete for the Sweeney Weekly Series, Pace Performance Summer Chase, and Futures Cup Championships.
“With the increased growth, we felt it was important to add into the Sweeney Weekly Series Championship,” acknowledged Emig. “We want the racers and speedways to know that as we grow so can our programs. Membership is still an option, but we want all of the returning member racers and all of the racers at the new speedways to continue to have incentive to join as the pot continues to grow so to speak.”
Discussions are underway with other speedways throughout the region. The 2014 Sweeney Tour schedule continues to come together and should be released in late January. Stay tuned in the coming days for an announcement on a major event to be held at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway in 2014.
A RUSH membership will automatically enroll the racer into the Excess Participant Accident Policy giving the racer $100,000 of excess medical benefit insurance; coverage is excess over participant’s health insurance and track’s participant accident insurance while participating in a RUSH-sanctioned event. Membership cost is $125 or $225 for racers that join both Weekly and Touring. 2013 charter members can take $10 off one membership or $20 off both memberships. 2014 membership forms are available under the Membership link at www.rushracingseries.com.
