T.J. Michael Logs Experience and Valuable Track Time During Florida Trip;
Will Join Outlaws in Texas Feb 26-27

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Plano, Texas (February 15, 2016) – T.J. Michael spent nearly a week in the “Sunshine State,” opening his 2016 season with a full slate of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition. The “Texas Traveler” made three starts during his short tour of Florida, joining “America’s Series” at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida, and at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Despite only qualifying for two out of three main events, Michael gained seat time and experience; important assets to help fuel the rest of the season.

“The results don’t look good on paper, but we learned a lot” T.J. Michael explained, “It was my first time ever racing in Florida. We knew what we were up against with that level of competition. Our intent was to travel down there and get a head start on the season, and that is exactly what we did. Seat time is important, especially when you are trying to learn about different tracks and surfaces. We wrote down everything we learned and moved forward. Excited to do it all again in a few weeks.”

T.J. Michael kicked off his Florida trip with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday evening, February 5, at Bubba Raceway Park. The Plano, Texas, native was scored 22nd during main event action; retiring early due to damage after contact with the outside retaining wall.

After losing action on Saturday, February 6, due to Mother Nature, the “Texas Traveler” would return to competition with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Wednesday and Thursday, February 10-11, at Volusia Speedway Park. Michael finished 18th during the 30-lap main event on Wednesday evening, but would fail to qualify on Thursday; finishing ninth during the evening’s B-main.

Up next on the schedule, the pilot of the Fremont Fence Company, Advanced Cast Stone, Kear’s Speed Shop, Shell Shock, Hinchman Suits, Snap-On, No. 8M will return to action on Friday and Saturday, February 26-27, in his home state of Texas. T.J. Michael will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars for two consecutive nights of competition. The “Greatest Show on Dirt” will visit the Cotton Bowl Speedway near Paige, Texas, on Friday, February 26, all before making an appearance at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, on Saturday, February 27. Each of the scheduled stops are within four hours of Michael’s Plano home.

“I’m more than ready to race in my home state this month” Michael said, “Getting an opportunity to race with the World of Outlaws is really special, but getting the chance to do it in front of close family and friends is even more exciting. They are the best sprint car drivers in the country. We’ll have a similar game plan as Florida; race as hard as we can and try earning a few solid finishes. If anything, we are preparing ourselves for the rest of the season.”
