“Texas Traveler” sixth during FAST action at Fremont Speedway
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FREMONT, Ohio (May 29, 2018) – After a tough outing with the All Star Circuit of Champions at Attica Raceway Park, missing A-main competition by two positions to end the evening on May 25, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael rebounded in a big way on Saturday evening during FAST Series action at Fremont Speedway.
After setting the evening’s fastest time during qualifying time trials, Michael drove on to finish third during his respective heat race, all before finishing sixth during the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win, FAST main event. Michael, who started fourth on the feature grid, had to do things the hard way on Saturday night at “The Track That Action Built,” forced to race the final 15 laps without tear-offs.
“That was fun. I think we were better than sixth, but I was forced to race without any tear-offs,” Michael said, driver of the Advanced Cast Stone/Fremont Fence Company/Crown Battery/Kear’s Speed Shop/Hinchman Suits/Big D’s Pizza of Fremont and Clyde/Kistler Racing Engines/Maxim Chassis/Wood Heating & Air Conditioning/Pro Tech Service Company/Wings Unlimited/Shell Shock/No. 8m sprint car. “All in all, a great effort by the entire team. The night was a success story from start to finish. Results like this really show our potential. Hopefully we can keep some momentum going and keep the top-ten finishes coming.”
The “Texas Traveler” will continue his 2018 campaign with a pair of FAST Series starts at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 1 & 2, respectively. Pending weather and/or any other schedule conflicts, Michael may make the trip east on Friday afternoon and join Tony Stewart’s All Stars at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Michael is certainly no stranger to All Star competition, competing full-time with the Series in 2016 and 2017.
