The Mad Man leads them all in Wheatland; Eagle Raceway next
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MIFFLINTOWN, Pa. (April 20, 2026) – For the first time in 2026, and for the first time in his storied career, the “Mad Man” Kerry Madsen is an Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing main event winner, accomplishing said feat at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” – Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, on Saturday, April 18. Madsen, the driver of Tony Vermeer’s TK Concrete, Maxim Trucking & Materials, Logan Contractors, No. 55 sprint car, secured his first-ever High Limit triumph from the front row, leading every circuit of the 30-lap contest with the likes of Sye Lynch and Tanner Holmes rounding out the podium.
Impressive enough, with his victory Madsen becomes just the second Australian to win a High Limit Racing main event, James McFadden securing the first. With all results considered, the St. Mary’s, New South Wales wheelman is now sixth in the High Limit Racing championship chase, trailing championship leader and Nevada ace Tanner Thorson by 78 markers.
“Overall, a great evening at Lucas Oil Speedway. Rolling out of the box, we knew we had something special…happy we were able to put it all together and put on a show like that,” Tye Wolfgang, Vermeer Motorsports’ Crew Chief, explained. “Tony Vermeer gives us the tools necessary to win and that was obvious on Saturday. All we can do now is get ourselves ready for another big night at Eagle Raceway on Tuesday. ‘Two in a row’ doesn’t sound so bad.”
High Limit Racing was scheduled to compete on two occasions during the recent weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans, ruining all hope for a visit to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, on Friday, April 17.
ON DECK:
Kerry Madsen and Vermeer Motorsports will continue their 2026 Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing campaign with a visit to Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska, on Tuesday, April 21, followed by a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series | Knoxville Raceway doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, April 24-25.
