The NDRL’s ULMS Late Models Set for Busy Holiday Weekend

Smethport, PA (May 22, 2013) The NDRL’s United Late Model Series kick off a busy holiday weekend as they visit their home track, McKean County Raceway on Thursday, May 23rd for the 7th annual Dave Lundgren Memorial then travel to south central New York’s, Woodhull Raceway for the 22nd annual Late Model Reunion for a rare Friday night event at the high bank oval and finish the three day trek on Saturday at Stateline Speedway. A possible $8,000 is available to one driver over the three day weekend activities with ULMS Late Models.

Night one will be a Thursday night thunder program at the NDRL’s McKean County Raceway in E. Smethport PA. The 7th annual Dave Lundgren Memorial will be held in memory of the 1989 late model track champion. $3,000 will be waiting for the winner of the 30 lap event. Past winners of the event are Bob Close who is coming off a win at MCR on May 3rd, Chub Frank, Boom Briggs, Close again in 2009, David Scott and Mike Knight last year. Ron Davies is the current track point leader over Jason Dupont with Dave Hess Jr. the current ULMS point leader. These drivers along with national drivers, Shane Clanton of Fayetteville, GA, Tim Fuller of Watertown, NY along with Vic Coffey of Leicester, NY will be on hand with regional stars like Rochester Mills, PA’s Gregg Satterlee in a star studded field.

The next night, the NDRL’s ULMS Late Models head to the high banks of Woodhull Raceway in a rare Friday night event at the boonies. $2,000 is sitting at the end of the 25 lap sprint that will see the super late models make their only annual visit for the 22nd Late Model Reunion. Mike Knight, Dan Stone and Scott Lebarron have won the past three events at Woodhull. Knight will be looking to repeat but this year the “Razor” Bob Close will be back after a year hiatus from Woodhull and look to continue his dominance at the high banks. Close last won at Woodhull four years ago. Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio will be making his first ever trip to Woodhull. The former World of Outlaws Late Model Series Rookie of the Year driver will no doubt thrill the fans on the tight 1/3 mile oval.

The weekend will conclude at Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY. The NDRL’s ULMS Late Models will be making their only visit to Jen Seamens speed plant on Kortwright Road. This will be a $3,000 to-win, 30 lap event and will also be a great shakedown for the tracks big national event the following weekend. Ron Davies is the current point leader at Stateline but the strong faithful drivers of Rich Gardner, Matt Urban, Chris Hackett, Doug Eck, Scott Gurdak and others will be looking to stop the ULMS outsiders of Hess, Knight, Briggs (who all can be considered Stateline regulars), King, Dupont and others from taking home the cash!

It is three days of NDRL’s United Late Model Series action along the Pennsylvania and New York border. Come out and “Get Dirty” with the NDRL’s ULMS Late Model Series.
