BUTLER, Pa. (August 2, 2024) – Within any young racer’s career, the time to make a transition from one division to the next, typically in an upward trajectory, is usually inevitable, and for Butler, Pennsylvania’s Cullen Hutchison, the time is now, set to make his RUSH Sprints debut Sunday, August 4, at Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Hutchison, who spent much of his 2024 season driving for North Carolina-based BKR, will make his RUSH Sprints debut for car owner Joe Lockhart, and backed by Lockhart’s own Lockhart Raceway in Seneca, Pennsylvania.
Hutchison’s driving tenure at BKR included appearances at a number of the nation’s top micro sprint events, one of which the well-known Tulsa Shootout in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Of Hutchison’s starts for BKR, it was a trip to the Land of Lincoln that was most impressive, eventually winning the Midwest Winter Nationals at Duquoin State Fairgrounds in Duquoin, Illinois – leading every circuit after starting from the pole position.
“This is really exciting and I can’t thank Joe Lockhart and Lockhart Raceway enough for this opportunity,” Cullen Hutchison expressed. “It’s been my goal from day one to get into a sprint car and for that time to be now is pretty special. The RUSH Sprint division is a perfect stepping stone. I’m confident Joe and I will click well and hopefully build a comfort level pretty quick. I’m ready to get started.”
