PLANO, Texas (March 15, 2021) – Despite opening his 2021 campaign with two days of competition against the best sprint car drivers in the world, joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, as well as a handful of off-duty All Stars, in a two-day venture south of the Mason-Dixon, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael fared well during his weekend swing through Mississippi and Louisiana, highlighting the trip with an A-Main start and a 20th-place score during action at The Rev in Monroe, Louisiana, on Saturday, March 13.

Michael, who will travel full-time with the Tony Stewart-owned All Star Circuit of Champions this season, earned his way into The Rev’s Outlaw debut main event by finishing sixth during his respective heat race.

A season shakedown among great company, Michael missed World of Outlaws feature action one night prior at Magnolia Motor Speedway; there were 34 cars in action.

“It was a tough weekend from a competitive standpoint, but it was a great way to open our season,” Michael said, driver of the Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kistler Racing Engines, Elite Wings, Big D’s Pizza, Viva Los Healthy, HP Striping and Seal Coating, No. 8M sprint car. “Racing with the best in the world will only push you to improve. You can learn a lot by racing with the World of Outlaws. My team and I knew what we were up against, but we kept our heads up and never stopped working. I’m excited to move on down the highway and race in my home state of Texas.”

Michael and Michael Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with a two-day visit to the Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, March 19-20. A 220-mile jaunt south of his Plano home, the “Texas Two-Step” at Cotton Bowl will feature two, full programs awarding $10,000 each.

“Not often do we have the opportunity to compete in my home state,” Michael continued, who headquarters his race team in Fremont, Ohio. “We plan to take full advantage of it.”
