The “Texas Traveler” is Traveling Well with All Stars;
Atomic Speedway On Deck for T.J. Michael
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FREMONT, Ohio (April 26, 2016) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael continues to show promise during the first few weeks of his Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions rookie campaign. The Plano, Texas, native, who keeps his race team headquartered in Fremont, Ohio, during the racing season, entered two more rounds of Arctic Cat All Star competition during the recent weekend, traveling east into the heart of Central Pennsylvania. Michael raced head-to-head with the notorious “Pennsylvania Posse” on two consecutive nights, earning one top-ten finish while advancing a total of 13 positions over the course of the weekend.
“Really couldn’t be happier right now,” explained T.J. Michael. “I’ve never visited those areas of Pennsylvania before, let alone race there, and we ended up having two, very solid nights. The “Pennsylvania Posse” are some of the most competitive racers in the country and to enter those areas and earn two respectable finishes says a lot about our race team. We stuck to a similar game plan on both nights; stay focused and allow the race track to come to us.”
T.J. Michael kicked off his recent weekend in “Pennsylvania Posse Country” on Saturday evening, April 23, at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. The pilot of the Advanced Cast Stone, Fremont Fence Company, Kear’s Speed Shop, Shell Shock, Hinchman Suits, Snap-On, No.8M, participated in the inaugural Keith Kauffman Classic with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, qualifying for the 30-lap main event and charging ten positions to earn a top-ten finish. Michael charged from 19th to ninth, the first top-ten of his Arctic Cat All Star rookie season.
The weekend continued on Sunday evening, April 24, at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Like Port Royal Speedway, Michael’s visit to the Selinsgrove half-mile was the first of his young career. The “Texas Traveler” qualified for the 30-lap, Ray Tilley Classic main event and finished 14th, charging forward from 17th on the feature grid. Selinsgrove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway each pulled well over 30 entries.
T.J. Michael will continue his rookie campaign with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday evening, April 30, at the Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio. Michael has one start at the Atomic highbanks in 2016, finishing 11th during unsanctioned feature competition in March. The Michael Motorsports entry will enter the upcoming Arctic Cat All Star weekend as the top rookie, tied for fifth in the current Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions standings.
“We’ve been racing well and that keeps us motivated and ready for the next race,” said T.J. Michael. “It’s too early to talk about points, but we’re excited to be this high in the standings. Our goal is to keep the consistency and work for that first series win. I just want to thank my crew. They bust their butts for me and I appreciate everything. It’s a true team effort.”
