SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (June 3, 2024) – A weather shortened weekend for “Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Team 73, but nonetheless, success was still the overall outcome, concluding his one-night stay at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, with a top-ten result against the Greatest Show On Dirt. Thiel, who is still chasing a first-ever World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series score, finished tenth in his top-ten appearance, maintaining his place within the feature frontrunners after starting one position better.

Dubbed the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial, Thiel’s Beaver Dam preliminary effort included the 13th-fastest qualifying time of 31 entries, followed by a third-place finish during heat race competition.

“We wanted another shot at them on Saturday, but we’ll take our Friday results and move forward,” Thiel, ace of the Gibbsville Cheese, Professional Plating Inc, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Total Restoration Services, Scott Thiel Builders, Lift Pro, Schmidts Landscaping, Complete Water, Iron Buffalo Saloon, GRP Motorsports, Lake Home Retreats, Elliott Family, Diamond Pools, No. 73 sprint car, said. “A great effort by this entire team. It’s been a challenge to find some rhythm this year, but we’re getting there. Taking things one race at a time is the key.

“We’re keeping an eye on the weather with a chance of making the trip to Davenport tomorrow,” Thiel added. “If that doesn’t work out, we’ll see everyone at Plymouth and Angell Park.”
