MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (November 11, 2024) – Three nights of competition resulted in three main event starts for Visalia, California’s Cory Eliason and TKS Motorsports, making their official debut in the annual, season-ending World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina.
Battling some of the best sprint car aces in the country, including the Greatest Show On Dirt, Eliason and TKS Motorsports highlighted their trip to the Tar Heel State with a 12th-place result in the weekend finale on Saturday, November 9, climbing four positions from 16th on the starting grid. A fourth-place finish during heat race competition propelled the Mitchellville, Iowa-based team to the evening’s main event.
Eliason and TKS Motorsports finished 19th in Thursday and Friday’s main events.
“Overall, just a solid weekend in Charlotte for TKS Motorsports. Super grateful for the opportunity to drive for Troy and Tammy [Renfro]. They are super passionate people and we molded rather quickly,” Eliason noted. “You never know what to expect when you connect with a new team. It always takes time to build a comfort level but we seemed to gel pretty fast. We just kept getting better as the weekend went on. Hoping to connect again in the future.”
“A lot of things are in the works at TKS Motorsports,” Troy Renfro added. “We’ll be moving into a new shop and quickly preparing for 2025. We’ll be making a driver decision soon and our plan is to participate in a ‘True Outlaw’ schedule. Excited to see what the future brings.”
TKS Motorsports will roll into the 2024 off-season with 25 top-tens to their credit, 18 of which within the top-five including four triumphs. The team’s most recent win occurred at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, on Friday, July 26 – they led all 25 laps for a $7,000 payday.
