BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 14, 2020) – Racing head-to-head with some of the best open wheel competitors in the country, Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing made the tow to Port Royal Speedway during the recent weekend and joined the All Star Circuit of Champions, as well as the infamous Pennsylvania Posse, for three days of Tuscarora 50 competition.
Although the middle of Stewart’s visit to the “Speed Palace” ended short of main event action, forced to settle with an 11th-place finish in Friday’s Night Before the Tuscarora 50 B-Main, Smoke did big things to open Tuscarora 50 weekend on Thursday and finished third during the $6,000-to-win preliminary main event, leading the first 12 circuits before giving up a pair of spots to full-time All Star and eventual winner, Cory Eliason, as well as Kerry Madsen.
Bettering most of the 51-car field on hand for the Tuscarora 50 finale on Saturday, Stewart, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Mobil 1/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Carquest/TechNet Professional Automotive Service/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Absolute Automation & Security/Digital Ally/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car, qualified for the 50-lap showstopper and lined-up seventh on the grid by way of heat race finish. Despite slipping outside of the top-ten, Stewart kept pace and ended the 50-lap, $53,000-to-win finale in the 13th spot.
With his podium finish on Thursday included, Tony Stewart now owns 18 top-ten results in 27 events with ten of those 18 occurring inside the top five.
Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing have not secured plans for the coming weekend, but fans curious in finding out Smoke’s sprint car agenda should keep alert online, as well as on social media.
