Trio of North Dakota starts ahead for Brent Marks
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GRAND FORKS, ND (August 14, 2017) – With the 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores in the books, Brent Marks will move forward and continue his 2017 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series campaign with a trio of events in North Dakota, set to visit River Cities Speedway, Red River Valley Speedway and Nodak Speedway on Friday through Sunday, August 18-20, respectively. The North Dakota triple-header will officially launch the second westward movement for the Greatest Show On Dirt, ultimately moving into parts of South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon, and California.
Marks, who is currently 11th in the World of Outlaws championship standings, has prior experience at one of the three ovals on tap in North Dakota, that being River Cities Speedway where Marks charged from 21st to finish 8th earlier this season. Marks’ advancement through the field not only solidified a top-ten finish, but also KSE Hard Charger Award honors. The “Myerstown Missile” has since acquired additional top-ten finishes, now with 14 on the season.
“We are pretty excited to head back north. We had some success at River Cities Speedway during our first visit, so that makes us a lot more confident heading back there. Anytime you can revert back to your notebook and expect positive feedback is motivating,” Marks explained, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19. “Our Knoxville Nationals campaign went OK, so we’ll bank off of that and move forward with a positive attitude.”
Brent Marks concluded his 2017 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores campaign with a B-main start on Saturday evening, the result of a 14th place finish during Friday night’s preliminary program out of 72 total entries; those who did not qualify for the Knoxville Nationals A-main finale, nor qualify for one of the top-ten starting spots in the Knoxville Nationals B-main.
“I can’t thank everyone enough who helps make this season possible,” Marks said. “We have an amazing amount of support behind this team. I do my best to return the favor and make them proud.”
