The vintage cars will also take to the speedway for an exhibition as part of the evening’s racing program.

“The racing action at PPMS has been excellent all season long,” stated Speedway Owner Matt Miley. “The track prep crew has done a tremendous job keeping the moisture in the surface and the fans have witnessed three and four wide racing action in just about every division each week that we have been in action this year.”

The aim of the PA Vintage Dirt Modified organization is to keep the look and racing of primarily the 1970s and 1980s alive., so they definitely look much different than the cars we see in action each week. In fact, some of the cars you will see on display and in action Saturday battled at Pittsburgh area speedways in the 1950s and 1960s.

Veteran racer and Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Member Lynn Geisler captured his second victory of the season last Saturday night. The 60 year old Cranberry Twp. veteran still knows “the fast way around the Monster Half Mile” as he held off second generation driver Brandon Burgoon to score his 74th career victory at the speedway. Another veteran, Ben Miley, has a strong run as well in last Saturday’s main event. He battled his nephew, Jared, for most of the 25 lap main event. The elder Miley settled for a sixth place finish but he certainly showed that he still “has what it takes to battle the youngsters.”

Others expected to vie for this week’s win, which is also the final tune up for the Red Miley Rumble, include defending divisional champion Michael Norris as well as Steve Baker, Jim Stephans and the father and son duo of Alex and Ed Ferree.

Kyle Lukon still maintains the points lead in Pro-Late Model action but the Burgettstown, PA resident has been shut out of victory lane since July 13. Another driver hoping to score a win is Hopewell, PA resident Justin Lamb. Lamb had a tire blew out at the start of last week’s main event and was credited with a 21st place finish. Lamb has been close to reaching Victory Lane on several occasions in the past few weeks so he may be the “darkhouse” to capture the win this Saturday.

Mark Moats is another Pro-Late driver that has yet to reach Victory Lane this season. Moats scored the Winner’s Circle Motorsports, LLC Hard Charger Award in the Jook George Classic as he came from the tenth starting spot to claim the runner-up spot at the conclusion of the feature event. Other drivers who will be looking for to score a victory this Saturday include Laura Lukon, Ron Hall and Mike Reft.
