“I’m going to give the National Sprint League a go as a driver, but beyond that, I just want to be a part of it,” says Vortex Racing Products’ Lynton Jeffrey. “The ‘Vortex Clean Sweep of Excellence Award’ is a great way for us to do that. We’ve needed a series like the NSL in our area for some time now. We’re really excited not only as racers, but especially with our business. No matter what happens with our race team, we’re going to be a big supporter of the NSL. It’s going to be interesting and a lot of fun.”

About Vortex Racing Products…

Vortex Racing Products is the industry leader in Sprintcar Wing design.

From humble beginnings in 1995 where we began producing wings for our own use we quickly became engaged in producing wings for other race teams. Inspired by a life-long background in race car design and manufacturing from our Dad, we (Paul and Lynton Jeffrey) continued to evolve into a company known for producing a product a little different from the rest. This ability to manufacture a Wing that is unique in design is what has been our success. With the use of our own race teams in Australia and America, we continually push the boundaries of design with an extensive testing program of our products each and every year. It is with our understanding of chassis design and manufacturing that we are able to communicate with our clients and tailor a wing package that best suits their race driver, team and make of chassis. We call this,” The Vortex Advantage”.

At Vortex we have built and manufactured our own sprint chassis, this was to accommodate our wing which we found to be more efficient and consequently produced more down force. We have since been fortunate to work with some of the best chassis manufacturers in America and can claim to be the people that inspired the raised rail chassis. It was our vision to produce the raised rail chassis to accommodate the efficiencies of our wing; this was to remove the problems associated with slamming the left hand bottom rail into the race track. This innovation in chassis design initially built for us at Maxim Chassis and raced to an Outlaw championship by Steve Kinser helped us to gain the respect of the market and more importantly instilled a confidence in the racers and in particular World of Outlaw drivers, of our ability to produce a winning Sprintcar wing.

Whilst we were winning races and championships consistently in Australia, it was initially tough going in the US market, although we were very fortunate that Terry McCarl believed in the uniqueness of our product. He took our wing to four straight Knoxville and Husets track championships from 2001-2004. In 2004 he put his car on the front row of The Knoxville Nationals and it was from that day on that teams across America really took notice. Kerry Madsen won the Knoxville Championship the next year in 2005 and it was in the same year that Donny Schatz tried his first Vortex Wing late in the 2005 season and he hasn’t stopped winning since!
