Weather Deters Marks, Will Spend Weekend in Central PA with All Stars
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MYERSTOWN, Pa. (April 19, 2016) – After taking recent weather conditions and the upcoming forecast into consideration, Brent Marks and M&M Painting & Construction have decided to cancel plans to join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Devil’s Bowl Speedway near Dallas, Texas, and instead, join the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during their first-full Central Pennsylvania swing of 2016.
“We had plans to travel south for our sponsor M&M Painting & Construction, but the weather is too risky,” explained Brent Marks. “M&M is headquartered in Texas, so we wanted to make sure we arranged a few dates to race close to their location. We traveled south in February and really enjoyed ourselves, so we were all pretty pumped to head back down there and do it again. The rain and flooding in some parts of Texas is pretty severe. After talking with M&M, we both decided it was in our best interest to cancel the Devil’s Bowl Speedway plans. We would hate to travel south and get washed out, especially with three big shows in our back yard.”
The “Myerstown Missile” will follow the Arctic Cat All Stars to Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening, April 23, for the inaugural Keith Kauffman Classic, all before a Sunday night visit to the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, for the Ray Tilley Classic on April 24. The pair of Central Pennsylvania “Classics” will each award $5,000 top prizes. Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M, is a recent winner at the Port Royal “Speed Palace,” conquering action on Saturday, March 19.
Before hopping on the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions trail, Marks will activate the upcoming weekend on Friday night, April 22, at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial will take over the world famous half-mile, awarding a $30,000 purse, which includes a $6,000 winner’s share.
“We have a pretty busy weekend ahead, but that’s how we like to keep things,” explained Marks. “I have a great group of guys who work hard each and every week. I also have a great group of sponsors who support us 100% regardless of where we end up. We’ve been pretty consistent as of late. We want that to continue.”
Brent Marks will enter the upcoming weekend with two recent top-ten finishes against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native joined the regional travelers on Saturday, April 16, at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, followed by an appearance at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, April 17. Marks finished ninth during each Arctic Cat All Star A-main, bettering most of the 36-car average entered each night.
