Weekly Action this Week at the NDRL’s McKean County Raceway

East Smethport, PA (May 15, 2013) After suffering the first rain out last Friday night, the NDRL McKean County Raceway will return to action this Friday night with a regular “Incredible Weekly” racing program featuring the super late models, RUSH crate late models, Emods, Close Racing Supply Street Stocks and mini stocks. Racing starts at 7:30PM Friday night.

Ron Davies of Warren, PA captured his first win at MCR since 2003 on opening night. The “Rim Rider” will be back and looking to grab his second win of the year. Other drivers looking to knock Davies off the pedestal will be “The Captain” Jason Dupont of Cyclone, Boom Briggs, Mike Knight, Bob Close, who won two weeks ago and Rob Blair.
Max Blair has continued his dominance at McKean County Raceway by winning the first two events Blair, the 2012 National Champion captured the win over, Eldred’s Damien Bidwell and Freedom’s Ed Carley the first two weeks and is coming off a $5000 win last weekend in West Virginia. A strong 33 car field was on hand opening night and another quality field is expected on hand Friday night. Other strong contenders expected are Bob Kish of Belfast, Ward Schell of Warren, Justin Tatlow and others.

Randy Hall of Olean passed his car owner, Vic Vena late in the season opener and finished second the next week to Ron Davies. Hall is the current point leader in the Emod division. Rich Michael Jr., Travis Asel, Steve Dixon, Brent Rhebergen, Carl McKinney and others will all be looking to stop Hall and Davies.

Adam Ashcroft of Arcade was the only Close Racing Supply street stock entry with a crate motor and he proved to the fans and his competitors that his crate motor was more than what he needed. Ashcroft is the current point leader, but former champion Andy Michael cracked victory lane two weeks ago. They will have to fend off the challenges of Randy Taylor,Ted Mascho, Gary Fisher, and others.

Larry Mitchell Jr., dominated in the mini stock feature both weeks as Chris Parr, Mitch Boylan, Kurt Babcock Joe Boylan will all be looking to to slow down Smethport’s Mitchell.

Another big car count and crowd is expected to be on hand for the first Friday night event at MCR. Pit gates open at 4:30 with grandstand gates opening at 5:00PM. Race time is 7:30PM. Adult grandstand admission is $12 with Senior Citizens age 65 or older being charged $10. Kids age 12 and younger are free. Pit Passes are $30. All new race teams will have to pay a one-time $25 track registration fee
