FOREST, Ohio (August 2, 2021) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall’s week started slow, but the results improved in a hurry, eventually cashing in for a runner-up finish at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, July 30. The product of row two, Westfall climbed two spots during Lima’s 25-lap non-wing finale, earning his place on the feature grid by way of heat race victory.

Padding a recent string of success, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will add their Limaland performance to a pair of Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) podiums that were earned one weekend prior; the team now owns three podium finishes, one of which a victory at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on July 24, over their last five starts.

Unfortunately, a pair of midweek USAC National Sprint Car Series starts at Terre Haute Action Track and Lincoln Park Speedway did not conclude with similar outcomes; Westfall finished 18th at the historic Terre Haute on July 28 and 17th at Lincoln Park on July 29, each of which Indiana Sprint Week contests.

“It wasn’t the best way to get our week and weekend started, but we recovered and that’s all we can ask for,” Matt Westfall said, driver of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, better known as the Bumblebee Express. “It was a great effort by the whole team. Ray (Marshall) is the man who makes all of this possible. If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t be out here. We owe it all to Ray and his commitment to the sport.”

An upcoming schedule for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports has yet to be determined. Fans are encouraged to keep alert online, as well as on social media, for continuing updates regarding the team’s schedule.
