PLEASANT HILL, Ohio (June 6, 2022) – Acquiring his third win at the Speedway in the last three seasons, Matt Westfall was victorious at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, yet again, this time scoring a $2,500 top prize during opening night of the Full Throttle Sprint Car Nationals on Friday, June 3. The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) victory was accomplished from the outside of row three, taking command just before halfway to secure his first win of the year overall. Westfall launched the BOSS program with a heat race victory.

Although just missing a weekend sweep, Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall’s Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, capped I-96 Speedway’s Full Throttle Nationals weekend doubleheader with another top-five result on Saturday, this time finishing fourth after starting second on the A-Main grid.

Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports earned two victories at I-96 Speedway during the 2020 season, one of which against the BOSS Series late in the season on September 25. The Forest, Ohio-based race team would score their second I-96 win of that season during Great Lakes Traditional Sprints competition on October 9.

“I-96 Speedway really fits my style of racing,” Westfall said following his victory on Friday, the 2021 BOSS Series champion. “It has the tendency to slick off to a curb and that allows me to pedal the car. We have a busy month of June ahead that will kick-off with a big weekend in Missouri with the Xtreme Outlaws. I think we are all excited to get started.

“I can’t thank Ray Marshall enough for this opportunity,” Westfall added. “He gives us the equipment to be competitive everywhere we run and we certainly wouldn’t be in this position without him.”

ON DECK:
Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2022 campaign with an Xtreme Outlaw Sprints Series doubleheader at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, June 10-11. Dubbed the 410 Nationals, the two-day program will award a total winner’s share equaling $11,000; $5,000 on Friday and $6,000 on Saturday. For more information, visit www.lakeozarkspeedway.net
