FOREST, Ohio (July 12, 2021) – A productive weekend for the Ray Marshall Motorsports stable, primary wheelman, Matt Westfall, took advantage of his two-race sweep and rattled off back-to-back top-five performances aboard the “Bumblebee Express” No. 33M, visiting familiar territory in Gas City I-69 Speedway and Atomic Speedway on Friday and Saturday, July 9-10.

Westfall, a one-time winner thus far in 2021, kicked-off his weekend with Gas City’s Beach Night Bash on Friday, ending the contest fifth in the running order after starting sixth on the evening grid; a runner-up finish during heat race competition allowed Westfall to automatically qualify for the 25-lap finale.

Westfall’s Saturday night top-five at Atomic Speedway occurred during Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) competition, utilizing the pole position to lead the first two circuits before fading slightly to third. The pilot of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/non-wing sprinter ignited his evening at the Atomic highbanks with the fastest qualifying time during his respective group, followed by a fourth-place finish during his respective heat race; Westfall earned the pole via redraw.

“It was a pretty solid weekend for our team. I’m proud of everyone involved,” Matt Westfall expressed, a former BOSS Series champion for Ray Marshall Motorsports. “We owe it all to Ray Marshall. He loves everything about this sport and it’s his love and passion that allows us to do what we do. We’re going to take a much needed weekend break, but we’ll be back in action with BOSS in a few weeks.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will enjoy a weekend away from competition before returning to duty with another round of BOSS Series action, this time visiting Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania, and Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania, on Friday and Saturday, July 23-24.
