FOREST, Ohio (May 2, 2022) – It was a wet weekend in Indiana for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, but despite the USAC National Sprint Cars two-day washout, losing Friday’s Bloomington Speedway feature just before the start, and the entire program at Tri-State Speedway the following evening, the team is feeling optimistic, already looking ahead at a monster, two-race weekend at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track – Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Before Mother Nature made her appearance at Bloomington, Westfall, ace of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, was on pace for big things, kicking off the evening with the 13-fastest time of 35 qualifiers, racing on to finish fourth in his respective heat race.
“Kinda disappointed to have to deal with the weather, but those things happen and there’s nothing you can do about it,” Westfall said, who is still hunting for his first feature victory of 2022. “We have a big weekend ahead at Eldora. This Ray Marshall Motorsports team is well overdue for a USAC victory, so our goal is to accomplish that on the big stage this weekend.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2022 campaign with a USAC National Sprint Cars doubleheader at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track – Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, May 6-7. Dubbed #LetsRaceTwo weekend, the USAC National Sprints will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for a true open wheel experience.
