FOREST, Ohio (August 24, 2020) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports accomplished everything but a victory during their recent trip to Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Indiana, capping the Candyman Classic / twin feature format with a pair of top-ten appearances, highlighting the night with a runner-up finish during the second 20-lap program.

Impressive enough, Westfall kicked-off the evening with a Hard Charging Performance during the first 20-lapper, rallying from 17th to ninth after a B-Main win. Westfall’s passing display allowed Ray Marshall Motorsports to earn a $100 bonus.

Gas City has certainly been kind to Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports in 2020. The Forest, Ohio-based racing operation owns one victory at the high-paced quarter-mile this season, doing so on July 17.

“That was fun. We wanted a win, bad, but to put up two great results like that says so much. I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team enough for the opportunity,” Matt Westfall said, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M non-wing sprint car. “We have a lot on our plate next weekend, but we’re ready for it.”

Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will continue their 2020 campaign with a tripleheader weekend on Thursday through Saturday, August 27-29. The 2019 Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) champions will join the best that USAC has to offer at Kokomo Speedway on Thursday, followed by back-to-back BOSS outings at I-96 Speedway and Kokomo Speedway on Friday and Saturday, August 28-29, respectively.

Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports earned four BOSS victories in 2019, one of which at Kokomo.
