FOREST, Ohio (June 24, 2024) – It’s been a long time coming for Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports, but the Forest, Ohio-based non-wing venture finally scored their first triumph of the 2024 season, doing so at Paragon Speedway in Paragon, Indiana, on Saturday, June 22. In fact, the trip to Paragon was as last minute as anything could get, immediately switching directions after their USAC doubleheader in Wisconsin was called off due to Mother Nature.
Westfall, ace of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators Inc, Hempy Water, DPI Ink, Wix Filters, Rod End Supply, Allstar Performance, No. 33M non-wing sprinter, earned his Paragon victory from third on the grid, taking command officially with less than ten circuits remaining. The Johnson Memorial score earned Westfall a $3,000 payday; a great momentum shift heading into Macon Speedway’s highly anticipated Top Gun Special on June 28-29.
“We needed that one…we were kinda doubting ourselves a little bit, but we finally got over the hump,” Westfall said. “The first one is always the hardest to get, so hopefully this gives us a nice little boost heading into two days in Illinois.
“Macon is a wild place,” Westfall added. “We’re ready to get after it.”
