FOREST, Ohio (August 19, 2019) – Although the weekend ignited on a bad note, actually getting caught up in a last lap incident during their visit to Gas City Speedway on August 16, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports did their best to rebound during their visit to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, August 17 – and rebound is exactly what they did.
Hurrying back to their consistent ways, Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports climbed ahead two spots during their Dick Gaines Memorial appearance at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday evening and finished fourth at the final checkers.
Westfall was racing in the seventh position when the scuffle occurred at Gas City Speedway; the team was scored 19th.
“Those things are going to happen. All we can do is shake it off and try again next time,” Ray Marshall said of Gas City, owner of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M entry, known otherwise as the ‘Bumblebee Express.’ “The team persevered well and rallied at Lawrenceburg. That’s what I like to see.”
Up next on the schedule, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will make their way to Kokomo Speedway for the 2019 edition of Smackdown; a four-day showstopper that will ignite officially on Wednesday, August 21. The USAC National Sprint Car Series sanctioned program will extend through Saturday, August 24. Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will determine whether they participate in the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) portion of the Saturday program, or the USAC portion, later in the week.
