By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FOREST, Ohio (October 5, 2020) – Despite what turned out to be a hard-fought weekend in the Hoosier State, missing main event competition during Gas City’s final event of the season on October 2, as well as missing an A-Main start against the USAC National Sprint Cars at Lawrenceburg the following evening, Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports are not the least bit discouraged and are already looking forward to a full weekend in Michigan.
An incident during heat race action at Gas City forced Westfall to compete in the evening’s B-Main; he did not transfer.
Westfall, driver of the Ray Marshall-owned/Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, will enter the Roll the Dice Invitational during the coming weekend, set to challenge Great Lakes Traditional Sprints (GLTS) at I-96 Speedway on Friday and Saturday, October 9-10. The two-day affair will feature two, full programs awarding a total winner’s share equaling $4,000; $1,500 on Friday and $2,500 on Saturday.
Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports will enter the weekend with three victories on the season, one of which at I-96 Speedway. The Forest, Ohio-based racing operation scored a Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) victory at the Lake Odessa facility on September 25.
“We’ll put last weekend behind us and move forward. That’s all we can do,” Matt Westfall said, the 2019 BOSS Series champion with Ray Marshall Motorsports. “Weekends like that happen. No reason to get discouraged. We have 4,000 reasons to be ready for this weekend. We know our way around I-96 so we’ll revert to our notes and aim to sweep the weekend.”
