FOREST, Ohio (August 14, 2023) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports’ relatively last minute decision to join the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio, certainly paid off, racing on to secure their sixth top-five outcome of the season, nearly acquiring their second BOSS triumph in the process.
Westfall, driver of Ray Marshall’s Buckeye Machine Fabricators Inc, Hempy Water, DPI Ink, No. 33M sprint car, finished second in his top-five score, battling ahead four spots after starting sixth on the evening grid. Certainly no stranger to BOSS competition, the former Series champion finished third with the organization at Knox Raceway in Knox, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, June 11, earning the aforementioned BOSS win at the legendary Florence Speedway in Walton, Kentucky, on May 27.
“It worked out to be a pretty good weekend,” Westfall explained. “We’ve been in the hunt a lot this season so it feels good to maintain that level of consistency. We have a big one coming up at Kokomo, so we’re going to continue to mold our focus around that. We’ll see what happens.”
