VINCENTOWN, N.J. (September 3, 2019) – An event that has been circled on his racing calendar since the beginning of the season, Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall is ready to get down with the best-of-the-best at Port Royal Speedway. Although the track’s scenery will remain the same, the stakes will be higher, as the annual Tuscarora 50 is on weekend horizon.

The All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 6 & 7, will be headlined with the 52nd running of the 50-lap Tuscarora 50, boasting an unprecedented $52,000 top prize in 2019.

Whittall, driver of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearings/No. 67 sprint car, has been a regular competitor at Port Royal Speedway for much of the 2019 season. The recent high school graduate hopes to use the lap time acquired to his advantage, ultimately earning a spot in Saturday’s prestigious A-Main.

“We’re pretty excited for the Tuscarora 50. We know the level of competition expected to be there, but we are not shying away from anything; we’re ready to go,” Whittall said, who has finished as high as second at Port Royal Speedway in 2019, most recently finishing third on August 24. “It’s a great place to race and we love the atmosphere. I think if we can put an entire night together and qualify well, we’ll be in contention for a respectable finish.”

Labor Day weekend proved to be a great test session for Whittall’s upcoming Tuscarora attempt, eventually capping the holiday with a 12th place finish during Port Royal’s Labor Day Classic on Monday, September 2.

Unfortunately, Whittall’s Port Royal Speedway attempt during the fair opener on Saturday, August 31, ended on the hook; he was scored 23rd.
