Wilmot Raceway Hosts Ultra-Competitive World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars May 9

Inside Line Promotions – WILMOT, Wis. – This has been one of the most competitive World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series seasons in the history of sprint car racing.

A total of 11 different drivers have recorded at least one feature victory, including the most recent winner – Sammy Swindell – who is one of the headliners as the premier sprint car series will make its return to Wilmot Speedway on Friday, May 9, for the first time since 2008.

This will mark Swindell’s first career World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event at the small, dirt track. However, he did pick up a win at Wilmot Raceway in 2009 during regional action.

“It was pretty small and it was pretty flat,” Swindell said of the track. “It was tough getting through traffic and getting around guys. When we get there this year, as close as everything is, it’s going to be even closer and harder to maneuver.”

Parity is the term to describe the Outlaws during the past couple of seasons and with every driver looking for the smallest advantage, traffic on the tiny track will be the likely decider of the winner on May 9.

“It’s kind of unique and fun to run because it’s so much different than most other tracks we go to,” Daryn Pittman said. “It puts on a pretty good show.”

Pittman is the defending series champion and he recorded the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series triumph during the last event at Wilmot Raceway almost six years ago.
