BENTON RIDGE, Ohio (September 3, 2024) – Greg Wilson and Greg Wilson Racing were forced to do things the hard way in their Attica Raceway Park “Attica Ambush” appearance on Friday, August 30, and despite their not-so-stellar starting position at mid-pack, commencing the FAST Series program from 14th on the grid, the team’s end result was fantastic, climbing to their 14th top-five of the season in a runner-up performance.
The Benton Ridge, Ohio, native and recent IRA Outlaw Sprint Series winner at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, launched preliminary action with the 16th-fastest qualifying time of 31 entries, racing on to finish fourth in his respective heat race.
Unfortunately, Saturday’s Attica Ambush finale was canceled due to heavy rain. In addition, Wilson was short of qualifying for Sunday’s Pete Jacobs Memorial at Wayne County Speedway.
“Hate to whine…I was pissed the way the track was all night and it made a fool out of me. It slicked off so that you could move around and thank goodness my wife and my girls and Nick Daugherty worked hard and I didn’t feel like it was right to give up,” Wilson, ace of the Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics Warehousing & Transportation, DNC Hydraulics, No. W20 sprint car, said of Attica Friday. “Can’t thank Attica Raceway Park and the fans enough. This place is really cool and when you run good you know you’ve done something. The guys that run here have gotten really, really good over the last couple of years.”
ON DECK:
Greg Wilson and Greg Wilson Racing will continue their 2024 campaign with a Saturday visit to Atomic Speedway or Sharon Speedway on September 7 – a decision will be made later in the week.
