‘Winter Extreme’ at Tucson International Raceway Set to Kick Off Huge 2014 for the NDRL

Pittsburgh, PA (August 4, 2013) The National Dirt Racing League would like to announce that the 2014 ‘Winter Extreme’ at Tucson International Raceway will carry the NDRL banner. The six event mini-series that will start the 2014 racing season will be held Saturday and Sunday, January 11 and 12, then after a three day break, will pick up on Thursday, January 16 and run through Sunday, January 19.

‘This is a big step for the NDRL,’ owner John Kennedy stated. ‘The NDRL is growing more and more each day and this is a part of that. Really, this is the tip of the iceberg with what we have planned for 2014.’ Kennedy continued, ‘Track owner Pat Robley and General Manager Jamie Throckmorton at Tucson International Raceway have built the ‘Winter Extreme’ into an event that we all look forward to, adding the NDRL into the equation will further extend the excitement and continue to build the ‘Winter Extreme’ into even more of a must-see-event.’

The ‘Winter Extreme’ has brought drivers from all over the country in the past and with the NDRL’s involvement in 2014, that trend should continue. Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR leads the all-time win list of Arizona’s January events with 11 total victories. Other drivers on the all-time victory list include Springfield, Missouri’s Terry Phillips, Steve Francis of Ashland, Kentucky, Jimmy Mars from Menomonie, Wisconsin, John Anderson from Omaha, Nebraska, New Richmond, Wisconsin’s Pat Doar, Martinsville, Indiana’s Don O’Neal, Tim Fuller of Watertown, New York, Ken Schrader of Fenton, Missouri, Tim McCreadie also of Watertown, New York, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Georgia, and Bub McCool from Vicksburg, Mississppi.

‘The ‘Winter Extreme’ will continue to be what it always has been,’ NDRL President Jason Shank said, ‘we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel with what the management team at Tucson International Raceway have done in the past, however, we do want to add the NDRL ‘flavor’ to the ‘Winter Extreme’. Drivers can expect higher payouts and fans can expect a few surprises as well. It’s an exciting time for the NDRL and we’re proud to become a part of the ‘Winter Extreme’.

Further details including schedule, payouts, ticket prices and everything in between regarding the NDRL’s ‘Winter Extreme’ series will be announced soon.
