WoO STP Sprint Car Series Tackles Gerdau 1st Leg of the Northern Tour on June 21
Inside Line Promotions – GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 3, 2013) – Fans who want to see side-by-side action lap after lap should look no further than River Cities Speedway, which hosts the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series on Friday, June 21, for the Gerdau 1st Leg of the Northern Tour.
“There’s always been a lot of action,” North Dakota native Donny Schatz said. “It gets slick, lots of slide jobs. There’s just a lot of excitement there.”
Schatz is one of four drivers with multiple World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events at the high-banked oval. He claimed the event in 2008 and won in 2009 to join Joey Saldana, Steve Kinser and Craig Dollansky as drivers who earned at least two victories.
“I’ve had a lot of fun racing there,” Schatz said. “When you get an atmosphere where the fans are really into it and the racing is good, it makes for a great event.”
Saldana won the inaugural race in 2007 and added a victory in 2010. Kinser picked up wins in 2010 and 2011, and Dollansky recorded his series-leading three victories in 2009 and twice in 2011.
Kraig Kinser and Sammy Swindell both became first-time winners at the 3/10-mile track last season.

Also, spectators can upgrade any ticket to a pit pass for only $10 on race day.
