ODESSA, Mo. (July 8, 2024) – Two days at Lake Ozark Speedway resulted in two days of success for Xavier Doney, Natalie Doney, and Doney-Lawson Racing, joining POWRi’s finest for back-to-back nights of WAR and 410 Outlaw Sprint Series competition on Friday and Saturday, July 5-6. When the dust settled on Saturday night, the Doney-Lawson Racing duo, pilots of the Schnee-Lawson Chassis house cars, had plenty to show for, all of which highlighted by Xavier’s victory during WAR action on Saturday, July 6. The Odessa, Missouri, native actually swept the evening’s non-wing program, scoring victories in the WAR heat, as well as A-Main.
In addition, Xavier, ace of the Schnee-Lawson Chassis, Motor Haven, Design Source Flooring sprint car, finished second to open Lake Ozark’s WAR doubleheader on Friday, July 5, accompanying his non-wing results with back-to-back top-tens during POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint Series action; he finished tenth on Friday and eighth on Saturday. The Missouri youngster utilized fourth and second-place heat race finishes to pad his eventual winged feature successes.
Natalie Doney, Xavier’s younger sister and teammate, joined in on the Lake Ozark Speedway Independence Day weekend fun, joining her brother for Saturday’s POWRi WAR portion of the program. Natalie raced on to finish sixth in the WAR main event – a great consolation after her regularly scheduled Saturday night agenda (Valley Speedway in a 305ci sprint car) was washed away due to Mother Nature.
Xavier Doney’s WAR triumph was his second since June 14, earning top honors at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa.
